Over the past 37 years, Steve has been one of Canada’s most respected sports media and communications experts. He has worked in various capacities within the sports media industry as a reporter and editor, communications specialists/consultant, and mentor to present and future members of the Canadian sports media landscape.

Steve has covered sports at the grassroots, professional and Olympic levels, including the Toronto Blue Jays’ back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993 while working as the national baseball writer for The Canadian Press. He has also guided coverage of the world’s largest sporting events – including six Olympic Games – as the Sports Editor of The Globe and Mail and Managing Editor – Sports of Yahoo Canada.


During his 25-year career, Colin has developed and managed innovative media and sponsorship programs for leading organizations in Canada and the United States. including the Canadian Hockey League, McLaren McCann Advertising, MKTG and the National Hockey League Players’ Association.

Colin has created and collaborated on sports marketing initiatives for major brands such as General Motors, Nike, BlackBerry, Verizon, Kraft, Budweiser and MasterCard. In 1991, Colin created Junior Hockey Magazine – Canada’s only nationally syndicated radio show that continues to deliver in-depth coverage of junior hockey across the country. In 2016, Colin became a New York Times bestselling author with his first book, Free Days With George, published by Penguin Random House.
